Instead mains voltage systems must be supplied by armoured cable to prevent danger from accidental damage by digging, lawnmowers etc. As distances are sometimes greater than within the home, special consideration also needs to be given when selecting cable sizes to avoid fire risk from overheating or damage to equipment due to volt drop in long cable runs.
